FIRST THURSDAY AT ANDINA (DEC. 3) Back by popular demand, Andina will host Gina Kirkorian for
her second first Thursday art show on Dec. 4 from
4 p.m. to
10 p.m.
in its lively and diverse event space, Tupai. The show is open to the public,
and tapas and drinks will be available for purchase. Scott Head will perform from
7 p.m.
to
10 p.m. Happy Hour will also be
offered in Tupai from
4 p.m. to
6 p.m.
Gina Kirkorian’s bright smile and exuberant laugh make her
the perfect artist for this month's holiday First Thursday. A long-time Andina employee,
Gina comes from a family who grew table grapes in
California,
causing her to move every nine months for harvest. Gina now jokes about her
longevity with Andina: she has never gone so long without moving. Her art, however,
remains in motion. Gina creates mixed media pieces, using print-making, painting,
sculpture and weaving. Inspired by her childhood on the farm and
later attendance at the
College of
Santa
Fe, her work frequently references agriculture
and the Southwest.
